Little GROWers Camp (Ages 5-7)
Join us for an exciting week of summer camp at the Project GROWS farm as we experience the journey of a vegetable from farm to table! Little GROWers will work together to explore the farm, taste-test a variety of produce, spend time tending the garden, and make delicious snacks from vegetables they harvest themselves. We’ll also go on scavenger hunts to find farm creatures like butterflies, worms, and beetles. Campers will have a chance to meet cows and chickens, learn about our amazing pollinator friends like bees that make farming possible, and uncover the mystery of soil and compost.
SKILLS CAMP (Ages 8-10)
*New for 2020!* We will also be offering a special Skills Camp session during Little GROWers, where older students will have a chance to practice more advanced gardening skills with farm staff and go more in-depth with our gardening topics, such as honeybees, cows, and garden insects, from real beekeepers, dairy farmers, and bug experts.
*Optional Friday Family Workday: Join us for an optional Family Workday on Friday from 9:00am-11:00am. Campers must be accompanied by an adult. Children and adults will work in small groups led by Project GROWS staff to complete kid-friendly gardening tasks such as planting, harvesting, and weeding. Bring a lunch and stay afterward for a picnic. Remember to wear closed-toed shoes, a sun hat, a water bottle, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty!
